2011
The first half of Summer was hot and dry resulting in good crop levels. Harvest started early and by the end of March, 70 per cent of the grapes were picked. We are seeing good colour in the Pinot Noir post ferment and very good fruit flavours in the whites. It was a successful harvest with well above average quality being made.
2010
A cooler December and January saw lower than average levels of crops on the vines. The autumn was amazing for the vines with no rain for 6 weeks. This gave us the ability to pick the grapes at optimal ripeness and concentration. As a result we have been able to make Pinot Noir with deep purple colour and a great tannin structure. The 2010 harvest will be one to watch as the wines become available.
2009
This was a long vintage, with picking completed around end May. Riesling was allowed to hang for long enough to concentrate flavours.
2008
2008 was a very good year. The harvest of 2008 consisted of a hot dry midsummer followed by a cooler March leading into autumn. This has resulted in wines of elegance and finesse with good levels of natural acidity and an intense minerality on the palate with ripe fruit flavours. Lighter colours resulted from drought stress.
2007
2007 was a cool year with bad flowering. Concentrated flavours however resulted through slow ripening. Late rain hampered some crops not picked earlier.
2006
2006 was a good year with particularly rich Pinot Noir resulting.
2005
2005 was characterised by bad flowering and low crop yields.
